Description
Properties and area of application
AVI is a skin disinfectant used for the prevention of toenail and foot fungus. It has been designed to work ultra fast (in less than 15 seconds) so that it can be used in practice to secure settings from a foot fungus epidemics. It does not contain alcohol (risk of inflammability) nor quaternary ammoniums (safety concerns). It contains iodine with a very safe toxicity profile.
Instructions for use
In a swimming pool or hot pool area, AVI is diluted 20-25 times with tap water, either by a dilutor allowing to spray the product, or directly in a foot bath. The solution in the foot bath should be changed when its colour lightens. Customers need to have their foot in contact with AVI for 15 seconds. If AVI is used in a health club or a spa, the feet should be rinsed with tap water after the contact with AVI. This is a very efficient product – fungi will be inactivated from the surface of the feet, keeping the barefoot area and the customers dermatophyte-free.
Management of the barefoot area
The foot bath or spray area should delimit the fungi-free barefoot area (“decontaminated zone”) and the contaminated barefoot area (“external zone”). The locker room should be divided in a decontaminated zone and an external zone, and marked as such. Customers going to the pool should use the external zone, those coming form the pool should use the decontaminated zone. The floor should be disinfected for this type of risk with a reliable disinfectant such as NOSO from abioniv.
